Colón Cemetery
Colón Cemetery is one of the most important and largest cemeteries in Latin America, spanning 57 hectares. Founded in 1876 and named after Christopher Columbus, it contains over 800,000 graves and mausoleums, serving as an open-air museum of sculpture and architecture. It features stunning marble statues, chapels, and tombs in styles ranging from Neoclassical to Art Deco. One of its most famous landmarks is the tomb of 'La Milagrosa', where Cubans make pilgrimages to ask for blessings. Many famous Cuban figures from history, art, and politics are buried here.
