Cathedral of St. John the Baptist
The Cathedral of St. John the Baptist is the first Gothic church built in Poland and the most important religious landmark in Wroclaw. Dating mainly from the 13th-14th centuries, it stands in the heart of Cathedral Island. The twin towers reaching 98 meters can be accessed via an elevator plus some stairs to the 91-meter observation platform offering breathtaking panoramic views of the city. The cathedral houses the largest organ in Poland and richly decorated Baroque chapels. Church entry is free while the tower and Baroque chapels require affordable tickets. Extensively rebuilt after severe WWII damage, it remains a powerful symbol of the city's resilience and spiritual heritage
