Cathedral of Brasilia
The Cathedral of Brasilia is an architectural masterpiece designed by Oscar Niemeyer, opened in 1970. The unique building features a hyperboloid structure made of 16 curved concrete columns, each weighing 90 tons, with a stained glass roof that allows natural light to enter in an enchanting way. Visitors enter through a dark underground passage before ascending into the light-filled main space, symbolizing the transition from darkness to light. It is considered one of the most innovative religious buildings in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site as part of Brasilia's modernist ensemble.
