The Cartuja Monastery is considered one of the finest examples of Spanish Baroque art. Its construction took three centuries (1516-1835), resulting in a unique blend of Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque styles. The church features elaborate marble and stucco decorations, while the sacristy houses magnificent frescoes by Sanchez Cotan.
