Castello District
The Castello district is the fortified historic center of Cagliari, Sardinia's capital, perched on a hill overlooking the city and sea. Surrounded by medieval walls accessible through four historic gates. It houses the Cathedral of Santa Maria, the National Archaeological Museum, and the towers of San Pancrazio and dell'Elefante. Its narrow cobblestone streets and ancient buildings transport you back to the era of the Pisans and Spanish.
