Cafayate
Cafayate is a charming wine town in the Calchaqui Valley, Argentina's second-largest wine-producing region. Famous for the aromatic white Torrontes wine, the only grape native to Argentina, the vineyards sit at 1,700m above sea level. The drive from Salta through the Quebrada de las Conchas is stunning, passing dramatic red rock formations. Most wineries can be visited without prior reservation.
