Cabo da Roca
Cabo da Roca is the westernmost point of mainland Europe, where the land ends and the sea begins as described by famous Portuguese poet Camoes. The dramatic cliffs rise 140 meters above the Atlantic Ocean, offering stunning views of the endless horizon. The historic lighthouse from 1772 stands proudly on the cape, while a stone monument commemorates this unique geographical location. You can obtain an official certificate of your visit from the visitor center. Sunsets here are among the most magical experiences in Portugal, with the sky transforming into vibrant colors as the sun dips below the Atlantic horizon.
