Butchart Gardens is one of the world's most beautiful gardens, spanning 22 hectares on the site of an abandoned limestone quarry. Since 1904, five main gardens have been developed: the famous Sunken Garden, Japanese Garden, Rose Garden, Italian Garden, and Mediterranean Garden. In summer, Saturday evening fireworks shows are held, and in winter the gardens are illuminated with millions of lights during the holiday season.
