Secret WWII bunker built 37 meters underground for Stalin in 1942 when Samara (then Kuibyshev) was designated the emergency capital. Deeper than London or Berlin bunkers. Declassified in 1990, now a museum showing Soviet wartime command infrastructure.
Metro: Alabinskaya station, exit towards Chapaev Square. Walk about 10 minutes to the Palace of Culture building. Bunker entrance is through the Academy of Culture (1 Chapaev Square). Buses: 24, 37, 47 to Chapaev Square stop. By taxi you can arrive directly at the building. Advance booking for the tour is required!
