Buda Castle

Buda Castle is a UNESCO World Heritage royal palace complex on Castle Hill. Originally built in 1265, destroyed and rebuilt many times, current baroque form dates to 18th century. Houses the Hungarian National Gallery and Budapest History Museum. Accessible by historic funicular.

Useful tips for visiting Buda Castle

Airport: train to Main Station (20 min, 12 PLN). From Warsaw: train 2.5 hrs. Old Town is pedestrian. Trams and buses cover outer areas. Taxi from airport: ~80 PLN.
