Bruges Canals
The picturesque canals of Bruges have earned the city its nickname 'Venice of the North'. These historic waterways wind through the old town, flanked by medieval houses with colorful facades and weeping willows. Boat tours depart from several points and last about 30 minutes, offering a unique perspective of the city from water level. In medieval times, the canals were vital trade arteries connecting Bruges to the North Sea. Today they remain the best way to explore the city, especially at sunset when lights reflect on the calm waters. Five embarkation points operate from March to November.
