Founded in 1620, the Botanical Garden is one of the oldest in Germany. It houses approximately 8,000 plant species across outdoor areas and four display greenhouses: tropical house, fern house, succulent house, and cold house. Research focuses on Black Forest fossil flora from the Carboniferous period. Entry is free and it's an ideal spot for walks on sunny days. Plant consultations are available on Wednesdays.
