Bogyoke Aung San Market
Bogyoke Aung San Market (formerly Scott Market) was built in 1926 during the British colonial era. With over 2,000 shops, it sells gems, jade, textiles, handicrafts, antiques, and art. It is Yangon's largest market for jewelry and souvenirs. The market includes a food court and currency exchange facilities. Named after General Aung San, Myanmar's independence hero. Closed every Monday and on public holidays. Bargaining is expected and can reduce prices significantly. The colonial-era architecture adds to the charm of this historic shopping destination
