Bobrenev Monastery
Bobrenev Monastery is a venerable historical monastery founded in the 14th century with the blessing of Saint Sergius of Radonezh to commemorate the famous Battle of Kulikovo in 1380 — one of the most important battles in Russian history that marked the beginning of Russia's liberation from Mongol rule. The monastery is situated three kilometers north of Kolomna across the river, offering stunning views of the historic Kolomna Kremlin from the opposite bank. This place is distinguished by its deep peace and tranquility far from the bustle of tourism, making it a genuine spiritual retreat. The Church of the Fedorov Icon is renowned for its exceptional acoustics that create a unique auditory experience during religious services. The monastery can be reached on foot or by car via a quiet country road that passes through beautiful natural scenery, adding to the sense of pilgrimage and discovery that defines a visit here.
