Bled Castle
Bled Castle is Slovenia's oldest castle, perched dramatically on a 130-meter vertical cliff above the lake. Founded in the 11th century as the seat of the Bishops of Brixen, it now houses a museum of regional history, a working historical printing press, a wine cellar, and an upscale restaurant. Its panoramic views of Bled Island, the lake, and the Julian Alps are among the most photographed in Slovenia. The castle is accessible on foot via forested trails or by car, with parking available at the top.
