Blagovestenska Serbian Orthodox Church
The Blagovestenska Church stands on the Main Square of Szentendre and is one of the most significant Serbian Orthodox churches in Hungary. Built in 1752 and designed by architect Andras Mayerhoffer, it features a magnificent Rococo iconostasis considered among the finest examples of religious art in Central Europe. The church contains 18th-century handicraft artworks and rare icon paintings reflecting the rich Serbian heritage of the town. Szentendre served as a major center for the Serbian community that fled Ottoman rule in the 17th century, leaving a profound imprint on the town's culture and architecture that remains visible today
