The world's oldest and largest stone library, founded in 1087 on the site of the Confucius Temple. Houses over 14,000 engraved stone steles from various dynasties, including calligraphy by famous artists and historical texts. The North Museum opened in 2025.
Adults 85 CNY. Free for children under 1.2m, half price for 1.2-1.4m. Allow 2-4 hours for full visit.
Morning visit recommended. Combine with nearby City Wall. The museum is less crowded than Shaanxi History Museum. Stone rubbings make great souvenirs.
