KTM Komuter from KL Sentral to Batu Caves station — 45 minutes, RM2.50. Station directly opposite the entrance. Also Grab/taxi from center ~30 minutes, RM20-30.

Shoulders and knees must be covered — it's an active Hindu temple. Shorts, mini-skirts, tank tops prohibited. If clothing isn't appropriate, you can rent a sarong for RM10 at the entrance.
Monkeys are used to people and can be brazen. Don't show food, don't eat in front of them, hold your phone firmly. Keep bags closed. Don't make eye contact or smile — they perceive it as a threat.
Steps are steep, climb takes 10-15 minutes. Bring water, wear comfortable shoes. Harder in the heat — come early morning. Elderly and those with health issues should assess their ability.
