Bathsheba Beach
A rugged Atlantic-coast beach area in St. Joseph parish, famous for the 'Soup Bowl', a world-renowned surf break with consistent waves especially between November and May. The area features dramatic rock formations of large coral boulders and natural tidal pools carved from inshore coral reef where locals soak on hot days. Swimming is not recommended due to rough Atlantic currents and rock formations, but the shallow rock pools are safe. The annual Independence Pro surf competition draws international surfers. Free parking and restrooms available. Best accessed by rental car or taxi as public transport is limited
