Basel's most famous landmark — a red sandstone cathedral topped with twin towers and colorful roof tiles. Built between 1019 and 1500 in Romanesque and Gothic styles. The towers offer breathtaking panoramic views of the city and Rhine. Contains the tomb of scholar Erasmus. The square in front is one of the loveliest spots to rest with river views.
