Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar
The Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar is Zaragoza's most famous landmark and one of the most renowned churches in Spain. This monumental Baroque church on the banks of the Ebro River was built on the site where the Virgin Mary is believed to have appeared to Saint James the Apostle in 40 AD. The building houses frescoes by Goya, a sacred chapel, and offers panoramic views from its towers.
