Bascarsija

Bascarsija is Sarajevos old Ottoman bazaar and the historical heart of the city, founded in the 15th century. The largest Turkish bazaar in the Balkans features narrow cobblestone streets, traditional craft shops, the iconic Sebilj fountain, Gazi Husrev-beg Mosque, and authentic Bosnian cuisine. The name means main bazaar in Turkish.

Ćevapi are grilled minced meat sausages served in flatbread (somun) with onion and kajmak cream. Ćevabdžinica Željo and Hodža are most famous - expect queues.
