Copper Canyon (Barranca del Cobre)
Barranca del Cobre is the main canyon that gave its name to the entire region - actually a system of six canyons larger and deeper than the Grand Canyon. It reaches depths of 1,879 meters with ecosystems ranging from tropical desert at the bottom to pine forests at the peaks. Named for the copper color of rock walls, it is home to the indigenous Tarahumara people.
