Bamboo Island (Koh Phai in Thai) is a small tropical paradise about 5 km northeast of Phi Phi Don. Measuring just 600 x 700 meters, it's entirely surrounded by a strip of pristine white sand with crystal-clear turquoise waters. Home to the best quality coral reef in the Phi Phi Islands with the most diverse marine life. Early morning visitors may swim with baby reef sharks before the crowds arrive.
National park fee 400 THB for adults, 200 THB for children (usually included in tour price)
October to April for Thailand's dry season with calm seas and best visibility. Early morning (before 9 AM) for baby sharks and fewer crowds.

While it has the best coral reef in Phi Phi, it's not ideal for weak swimmers. There are currents, flippers are required, and the reef entry is from deeper water (drop-off). Average swimmers will enjoy the incredible marine diversity, but beginners should stay in shallower areas closer to shore.
