Balatonfured Tagore Promenade
Tagore Promenade stretches along the shore of Lake Balaton in Balatonfured, the oldest health resort on the lake dating back to the 18th century. Named after Indian poet Rabindranath Tagore who recovered from illness here in 1926 and planted a memorial tree, the walkway is adorned with memorial trees planted by celebrities from around the world over the decades. The promenade offers stunning lake views, a yacht marina, elegant waterfront cafes and restaurants. In winter the area transforms into a spectacular ice rink corridor stretching nearly one kilometer with three connected rinks. Annual Wine Weeks in August celebrate the region's viticulture
