Bab Semmarine
Bab Semmarine is an imposing 14th-century gate separating Fes el-Jdid from the Mellah. It features two parallel arches and traditional geometric decorations. Historically it was an important crossing point between different quarters with two watchtowers. The name comes from nail makers who worked in the area. Today it stands at the entrance to the historic Jewish Mellah quarter and is a prominent landmark on Fes el-Jdid tours.
