Bab El Had
Bab El Had is a historic gate that serves as the main western entrance to the old medina. It dates back to the 12th century under the Almohads. Its name means 'Sunday Gate' referring to the weekly market that was held in front of it. Today the gate is an ideal starting point for exploring the old town and traditional souks. It is surrounded by a lively square filled with cafes and street vendors. A popular market is held nearby every Sunday.
