Artplay Design Center
Artplay is Moscow's largest design and architecture center, located on the territory of the former Manometr factory. Today it's a creative cluster with galleries, showrooms, workshops, and educational spaces where the capital's creative industry is concentrated.
History of the Space
The Manometr factory operated here since 1886, producing measuring instruments. In 2008, the industrial buildings gained new life as a design center. Brick walls, metal structures, and industrial interiors became the backdrop for contemporary art.
Architectural Environment
The complex retained its industrial character: high ceilings with exposed utilities, large windows, and brick masonry. Modern glass and metal insertions harmoniously complement the historic buildings. Courtyards have been transformed into public spaces with art objects.
What's Here
Artplay unites over 100 companies: architectural bureaus, design studios, contemporary art galleries, furniture and lighting showrooms. The British Higher School of Design and other educational projects train creative professionals.
Galleries and Exhibitions
Regular exhibitions of contemporary art, design, and architecture take place. The Elektrozavod Gallery specializes in current art. The Start space presents young artists.
Infrastructure
Cafes and restaurants of various concepts operate on the territory - from coffee shops to gastro bars. A bookstore specializes in literature about art and design. Markets and festivals are held on weekends.
For Professionals
Artplay is a working platform for architects and designers. Here you can find renovation materials, order furniture, and consult with specialists. Showrooms present leading global interior design brands.
