Archbishop's Palace
An impressive baroque palace opened as a Cultural and Visitor Centre in February 2016 after extensive restoration. The highlight is the Room with Birds - 18th-century frescoes depicting birds discovered in 2013 beneath 30 layers of paint during restoration. The palace showcases private quarters of archbishops including study, salon, bedroom, and chapel, plus ecclesiastical art collections and a Hungarian saints exhibition. The baroque ornamental garden is free to enter. A wine cellar offers local Eger wines and the palace cafe serves Italian coffee with local Stuhmer cakes
