Arch of Galerius
The Arch of Galerius, known locally as 'Kamara', is an imposing Roman triumphal monument dating to 303 AD. Emperor Galerius built it to celebrate his victory over the Persians. Standing in the heart of Thessaloniki on the historic Via Egnatia, it was part of a vast imperial complex that included the Rotunda and Galerius Palace. The marble pillars are adorned with relief sculptures depicting scenes from the military campaign and religious ceremonies. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1988 as part of Thessaloniki's Byzantine monuments. Freely accessible around the clock, the arch is beautifully illuminated at night, making it a stunning landmark for photography at any hour
