Água de Prata Aqueduct
The Água de Prata Aqueduct, known as the Silver Water Aqueduct, is a 16th-century engineering marvel stretching 18 km from Graça do Divor to central Évora. Designed by Francisco de Arruda (architect of the Belém Tower) between 1531-1537, its arches reach up to 26 meters high outside the city walls. Within the city, charming houses and shops were built beneath the arches along Rua do Cano, creating a unique urban landscape. You can walk alongside the aqueduct for 8.5 km on a scenic nature trail through cork oak forests, offering beautiful views of Évora and the Alentejo countryside.
