Anakena Beach
Anakena is Easter Island's only true sand beach and the legendary birthplace of Rapa Nui civilization. Here, according to myth, King Hotu Matua's first canoes landed. Soft white sand is framed by a palm grove and the elegantly restored Ahu Nau Nau moai with their distinctive red topknots. Crystal-clear calm waters are perfect for swimming year-round - even in winter the temperature reaches 20 degrees. Excellent facilities include restaurants, restrooms, and changing rooms.
