Amalienborg Palace

Amalienborg is the official residence of the Danish Royal Family, comprising four identical rococo palaces arranged around an octagonal courtyard with a statue of Frederick V. The Royal Guards in their distinctive uniforms patrol the palace 24 hours. The Amalienborg Museum in Christian VIIIs Palace showcases private royal apartments and the history of the Danish monarchy from 1863 to today.

How to Get There

Metro M3/M4 to Kongens Nytorv, 10-minute walk through Nyhavn. Bus 1A stops nearby. Walk from Opera via Inderhavnsbroen pedestrian bridge. Guard changing at 12:00, with band if Queen is in residence.
