Altos de Chavón
Altos de Chavón is a Mediterranean-style village replica of a 16th-century settlement, perched on a cliff above the Chavón River. Designed by Italian designer Roberto Copa and built in the 1970s using traditional craftsmanship, the village houses the Regional Museum of Archaeology, St. Stanislaus Church (where many celebrities have married), art galleries, artisan shops, and upscale restaurants. The stunning location offers panoramic views of the river, and the 5,000-seat Greek-style amphitheater hosts world-class concerts by artists like Frank Sinatra, Sting, and Marc Anthony.
