Altare della Patria
The Altare della Patria (Vittoriano) is a massive white marble national monument honoring King Victor Emmanuel II, the first king of unified Italy. Built between 1885 and 1925, it houses the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier with an eternal flame. The panoramic terrace on the rooftop offers breathtaking 360-degree views over Rome, reaching from the Colosseum to St. Peter's Basilica. The museum inside explores Italian unification history.
