Al-Attarine Madrasa
Al-Attarine Madrasa, built between 1323 and 1325 under Sultan Abu Said Uthman II, is named after the nearby spice market. Despite its small size, it impresses with the density of its decoration featuring zellige mosaics, carved stucco, and ornate cedarwood. The central courtyard with marble fountain provides a peaceful refuge from market noise. Kufic and floral inscriptions cover almost every surface. Its location beside Al-Qarawiyyin Mosque makes it an ideal stop for exploring the medina heart.
