Abbaye Notre-Dame de Sénanque
The 12th-century Sénanque Abbey is one of the best-preserved examples of Romanesque Cistercian architecture in Provence. A community of monks still inhabits the abbey and produces honey and lavender. The site is famous for its lavender fields that bloom from mid-June to mid-July, creating one of France's most photographed scenes. Tours of the church and cloister are available. The monks maintain a schedule of prayer that visitors are asked to respect.
