Aare Gorge is a stunning natural canyon 180 meters deep and only one meter wide at its narrowest point. Formed over thousands of years by glacier and river, a 1.6 km wooden walkway bolted to the rock walls takes you through steep cliffs above emerald-green waters. On Friday and Saturday evenings in summer, evening illumination transforms the place into a magical world. Can be combined with nearby Reichenbach Falls (famous from Sherlock Holmes). The turquoise water color comes from glacial rock flour.
