Gran Cenote: $30 USD (increased in 2025). Most popular cenotes: $20-25 USD. Budget cenotes like Cenote Cristal: 150 pesos (~$8). Only free cenote is tiny Cenote Aldea Zama.

Beach Zone: luxury eco-hotels $500-2000+/night, limited AC, Instagram-worthy. Pueblo: budget-friendly $30-100/night, authentic food, nightlife, 24h electricity. Split your stay for best of both.

ADO bus from Cancún Airport: ~$15 USD one-way, 2h ride directly to Tulum bus station. Private transfer: $100-150. Colectivos from Playa del Carmen are cheaper but slower.

Combined entry fee is now ~515 MXN (~$25 USD) including the new Jaguar Park fee. Go early morning (8am) to avoid crowds and heat.

Travel Tips

Useful tips for visiting Tulum

Rent a bicycle ($10/day) or scooter to get around. Taxis from Pueblo to Beach Zone cost 300-500 pesos ($15-25) each way.

Book beachfront hotels months in advance for Dec-Mar peak season. Prices triple during major festivals and holidays.

Beach Zone hotels often have unreliable electricity. Many use solar and generators. AC may work only at night or not at all.

Visit cenotes early morning (before 10am) or late afternoon to avoid crowds and tour groups from Cancún.

Sargassum seaweed can cover beaches March-August. Check recent photos before booking. South beaches usually cleaner.
