Useful tips for visiting Tulum
Rent a bicycle ($10/day) or scooter to get around. Taxis from Pueblo to Beach Zone cost 300-500 pesos ($15-25) each way.
Book beachfront hotels months in advance for Dec-Mar peak season. Prices triple during major festivals and holidays.
Beach Zone hotels often have unreliable electricity. Many use solar and generators. AC may work only at night or not at all.
Visit cenotes early morning (before 10am) or late afternoon to avoid crowds and tour groups from Cancún.
Sargassum seaweed can cover beaches March-August. Check recent photos before booking. South beaches usually cleaner.
