Visit BunkArt 1 or 2 - museums in converted Communist bunkers showing Albania's bizarre Cold War history. Unique experience you won't find elsewhere. BunkArt 2 is in center.
Explore Blloku area in evening - former Communist forbidden zone, now best nightlife. Amazing transformation. Cafes are open very late, Albanians love socializing.
Bring cash - many places don't accept cards. ATMs widespread but withdraw enough. ~100 ALL = €1 for easy calculation.
Try byrek (savory pie), tavë kosi (lamb with yogurt), and raki (local spirit). Albanian coffee culture is strong - espresso very cheap and excellent.
