Useful tips for visiting Tenerife
Get Ten+ card for buses — saves 30-50% on fares. Available at stations and Lycramobile shop at airport
Book Mount Teide cable car tickets online in advance — slots fill up fast especially in peak season
Use only official white taxis with council logo. Refuse private cars pretending to be taxis
South is sunnier and warmer than north due to Mount Teide. Choose south for beaches, north for nature
Beware of timeshare offers. If someone offers you a scratch card, ignore it — it's a common scam
Try Menu del Dia at local restaurants — 3-course meal with drink for just 10-15 EUR
When hiking at Teide or Anaga, stick to marked trails and bring water and proper shoes. Weather changes fast at altitude
Shop at Mercadona, Lidl or HiperDino for best prices. Avoid El Corte Ingles for daily shopping
Don't leave valuables visible in rental car — car break-ins happen at tourist attraction parking lots
Most restaurants don't allow adding tips when paying by card. Keep some cash for tips
