Useful tips for visiting Serengeti
Book safari at least 3-6 months ahead, especially for migration season (July-August). Limited spots available
Bring neutral-colored clothing (beige, olive, khaki). Avoid bright white and dark blue
Bring good binoculars and camera with 200-400mm lens. Extra batteries essential - some camps have no electricity
Game drives start very early (5:30-6:00 AM). Animals are most active at sunrise and sunset
Malaria present. Consult doctor about prophylaxis before travel. Bring strong insect repellent and long clothing for evenings
Never exit vehicle without guide's permission. Wild animals are dangerous. Keep at least 25m distance
Bring small USD bills ($1, $5, $10) for tips. No banks or ATMs in the park
