Useful tips for visiting Puerto Vallarta
Take buses! Only 10 pesos and plentiful. Much cheaper than taxis
Avoid street taxi drivers. Use Uber or hotel taxi stands for fixed rates
Beware of wristband scams - people impersonating hotel staff leading you to overpriced shops
Drink only bottled water. Avoid ice cubes in simple restaurants
Malecón (boardwalk) is great for evening walks. Free and stretches 1.5 km with sculptures
Book whale watching tours early in peak season (Dec-Feb). They fill up fast
Banks offer better exchange rates than airport or street. Use ATMs for best rate
