Paphos has its own international airport (PFO) — second largest in Cyprus. Direct flights from Europe and beyond. From Larnaca Airport — 1.5 hours by taxi (€100) or bus. Transfer from Paphos Airport to city — €20-25.
Paphos is the birthplace of Aphrodite and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Archaeological park with Roman mosaics, Tombs of the Kings, Aphrodite's Rock. The city was European Capital of Culture in 2017.
Coral Bay is the best sandy beach 12 km from the city. Vrysoudia Beach in the center — Blue Flag. Lara Bay — wild beach with turtles (nature reserve). Aphrodite's Rock — not for swimming but very scenic.
Car rental is the best option for Paphos and surroundings (from €20/day). Buses connect town, harbor and Coral Bay. Taxis are expensive. Driving is on the left! Many attractions are scattered — difficult without a car.
Beach season: May-October. Spring (March-May) is ideal for sightseeing — not hot, everything blooms. Winter is mild (15-17°C) — hardy swimmers can swim. August is hottest (up to 40°C) and most crowded.

Useful tips for visiting Paphos
Paphos Archaeological Park is a must see! Roman mosaics in the House of Dionysus are incredibly beautiful. Best to visit morning or evening — very hot during the day. Ticket €4.50, valid all day.
Aphrodite's Rock (Petra tou Romiou) — legend says the goddess was born here. Swim around the rock 3 times for eternal youth and love. Best view from the hilltop viewpoint. Swimming is dangerous due to currents!
Coral Bay is the main family beach. Fine sand, gentle slope, almost no waves. Many tavernas and shops. Very crowded in season — arrive before 10:00 for a good spot.
Rent a car! Public transport in Paphos is limited and attractions are scattered. Fuel is cheaper than in Europe. Parking in town is free (except harbor). GPS is essential — few road signs.
Paphos Harbor in the evening is romantic! Fishing boats, restaurants overlooking the castle, street musicians. Prices above average but worth the atmosphere. Order fresh fish — caught today.
Akamas Peninsula is nature paradise! Rent a jeep or ATV. Blue Lagoon — best snorkeling in Cyprus. Aphrodite Trail — 7.5 km walk through forest. Baths of Aphrodite — for viewing only, no swimming!
