Cards accepted everywhere. CHF is local currency. EUR sometimes accepted at poor rates. Very expensive tourist town.
Best rates at UBS or Credit Suisse on Bahnhofstrasse. Train station (Bahnhof) exchange expensive - 7-9% worse. Chapel Bridge (Kapellbrücke) area tourist exchanges charge huge markups. Shops accept EUR but terrible rate (20% worse) - insist on CHF. PostFinance ATMs charge CHF 5 flat fee but honest rate.
Service included. Rounding up appreciated but not expected. 5% for exceptional service.
