The nearest airport is Larnaca (65 km). Taxi transfer costs about €50-60, bus — €9. There is also Paphos Airport (60 km). Many hotels offer free transfers.
EU citizens do not need a visa. Many nationalities can get a free pro-visa online (up to 90 days). Schengen multi-visas are also accepted. Cyprus is not in Schengen but recognizes Schengen visas.
The official currency is Euro (EUR). Bank cards are accepted everywhere. ATMs are available in all areas. Currency exchange is available at banks and exchange offices.
Best time is April to October. Beach season: May-October (water 22-28°C). Spring (March-May) is ideal for sightseeing. February hosts the famous carnival. Winter is mild (15-18°C), good for exploring attractions.

Buses are main public transport (€1.50 ticket). Taxis are convenient but expensive (from €5 starting). Car rental is recommended for island trips (from €25/day). Driving is on the left! Bicycles can be rented on the promenade.

Useful tips for visiting Limassol
Traffic in Cyprus drives on the left (British heritage). When renting a car, choose automatic if you're not used to it. Be careful at roundabouts — priority goes to those already in the circle.
Euro is the only currency. Cards are accepted everywhere, even in small cafes and markets. Bank of Cyprus ATMs have no fees. Tips are not obligatory, but 5-10% is appreciated in restaurants.
Limassol is an extremely safe city. You can walk at night without concerns. Just watch your belongings on the beach while swimming. Police are friendly and speak English.
Meze is a must try! It's not one dish but 20-30 small portions. Order for two — portions are huge. Best tavernas are in Troodos villages (Omodos, Platres). In town, look for restaurants away from the promenade — cheaper and more authentic.
The sun in Cyprus is very strong even in winter. SPF 50 is mandatory from April to October. Drink lots of water — at least 2 liters daily in summer. Avoid the beach from 12:00 to 16:00 in July-August.
Cypriots are very warm and hospitable. If invited home — bring sweets or wine. In churches — cover shoulders and knees. Sunday is family day, many shops are closed.
February Carnival in Limassol is the country's biggest! Book hotels 2-3 months ahead. Parade on last Sunday before Lent. Wine Festival — September in the city park (free tasting!).
Taxi to airport is fixed price €50-60 (no bargaining). Bolt and Uber don't work. Use official Cyprus Taxi app or call dispatcher. Night rate is 15% more expensive.
Sea warms up by mid-May (22°C) and stays warm until late October (25-26°C). Best snorkeling — Aphrodite's Rock and Cape Greco. Jellyfish are rare but may appear in August — usually harmless.
Troodos Mountains is a must-do day trip. It's 10°C cooler there! Omodos village — wine and preserves. Platres — waterfalls. Kykkos Monastery — Cyprus's main shrine. In winter you can even ski!
