Levi and Saariselka are best for first-time visitors due to excellent infrastructure and many activities.
Book husky, reindeer and snowmobile tours 2-3 months before peak season (December-March).
For true peace and authentic Sami experiences, visit Inari and Utsjoki in the far north.
Everyman's Right: You can camp, hike, and pick berries anywhere in nature (respect private property).
In summer, use mosquito repellent! Mosquitoes can be fierce near lakes.
Renting a car gives maximum flexibility. Roads are well-maintained even in winter.
