Useful tips for visiting Khao Sok
Book lake tours and boats in advance! Boat availability limited as of 2026. Book through your raft house or tour operator, not on arrival
Bring enough cash! No ATMs in Khao Sok. Tours, meals, and most services are cash-only. Withdraw in Surat Thani or before arriving
Bring insect repellent and flashlight! Mosquitoes are active and nights are very dark. Jungle is a real jungle
2-night/3-day tour is best value. Includes accommodation, all meals, and activities for ~3000 THB. Much better than booking separately
Night safari from 1200 THB. Great chance to see nocturnal wildlife including civets, slow lorises, and various bird species!
