Useful tips for visiting Kakadu
Crocodiles are extremely dangerous! Obey all warning signs. Never swim in unmarked waters. Stay 50m from water edge when camping.
Bring lots of water. Temperatures are high and dehydration risk is real. At least 4 liters per person daily.
Check road conditions before traveling. Many roads close during wet season (Nov-Apr). 4WD essential for some areas.
Respect Indigenous culture. Some areas are sacred and off-limits. Ask before photographing rock art or ceremonies.
Fuel is limited in park. Stations only at Jabiru, Cooinda and Gulpinga. Fill up before entering.
Tell someone your itinerary. Mobile coverage is limited or non-existent in most of the park.
