89 steps carved into the cliff face lead down to a secluded beach directly below the Twelve Apostles. From the beach, you can see two of the Apostle stacks rising from the ocean with a unique perspective not possible from above. Named after Hugh Gibson who carved the original stairs into the rock in the 19th century.

A charming village nestled between the Otway rainforests and the ocean, an ideal stopover on the Great Ocean Road. Known for fresh seafood from the local fishing harbor, safe swimming beaches, and proximity to the waterfalls and forests of the Otways. The town retains traditional fishing village charm with cafes, restaurants, and art shops.

A legendary beach in global surfing culture, home to the Rip Curl Pro competition since 1962. The powerful waves and currents make it suitable only for experienced surfers. The area is protected as a Surfing Recreation Reserve. Even for non-surfers, the site offers stunning ocean views and watching world-class surfers in action.

Drive from east to west (Torquay to Port Campbell) to stay on the ocean side of the road.

Best time to see the Twelve Apostles is sunrise or sunset for golden light.
Visit Loch Ard Gorge - less crowded than Twelve Apostles and equally stunning.
